The Citadel
Info: Overlooking the lower part of the town and offering some of the most spectacular views in the whole of Calvi, the citadel is one of the most historically important parts of the town. It was built by the Genoese at some time in the 16th century.

Governor’s Palace
Info: The Governor’s Palace was first constructed in the 13th Century and shows signs f the traditional designs and building methods that were being employed at that time. It was added to and enlarged in the 16th Century by the Genoese who preferred a grander residence for their dignitaries.

Monument to the Dead
Info: This large monument stands in the shadow of the citadel at the end of Boulevard Wilson. Particularly this fine statue is standing in memory of the brave people who died in the two world wars, defending the basic rights of freedom and liberty in the western world.

Saint Jean Baptiste Church
Info: The church was built in the 13th century and then again rebuilt in the late 16th century. There are many interesting artifacts within the church building including a statue of Jesus that was paraded through the streets of the town in 1533 shortly before the Turkish army who had been besieging the city gave up and left.
