When to go and what to do
Due to the Mediterranean breeze, the beaches of Corsica are always sunny and warm. More so the beautiful sandy beaches found in Calvi, which of course are no exception, especially if you’d like nothing more than to spend a carefree afternoon in the summer sun.
Calvi and the surrounding area have a lot to offer, making it ideal for a first time visit to the island. The beach is just a short stroll away from town, and you’ll find many good restaurants and lots of interesting boutiques there. The huge sweep of fine sand stretches for over 5 km, and the beach is home to a number of water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and diving, whilst the mountain backdrop can be explored on foot, horse back or by car. The Citadel which stands above the town is remarkable and well worth a visit, but there is nothing better that enjoying an aperitif on the harbor and just watch the world go by.
Calvi is the perfect place for a fun and adventurous vacation, of course most people come to Calvi to relax on the beach and sunbathe in the interest of getting a nice tan.
